Camille Has A Solid Start Making Money Online
In the past four months, Camille Johnson has immersed herself in a project and has started to reap the benefits. Since January of this year, she has learned how to make money online after attending the Internet Income Jamaica- Internet Bootcamp and is steadily creating a profitable business.
Johnson, a 30 year old Kingston resident, first heard about our training workshops after seeing an advertisement on TVJ’s Smile Jamaica programme about two years ago. She felt it was a great way to earn additional money but didn’t act on her willingness to learn initially because whenever the bootcamps were being held, she either didn’t have the registration money or was out of Kingston.
However, Johnson kept seeing the ads and just to satisfy her compelling curiosity decided to attend one of the sessions in January. That weekend was a revelation for her, as the information given and the professional conduct of the instructors solidified the fact that the course and opportunity was not a scam.
Johnson left feeling very hopeful and commented that she “left the bootcamp feeling great, like I could, for want of a better word, ‘take over the world’ (in a sense).”
After attending the bootcamp, she also took the course in website building and design so she could, in the near future, offer those services online as well as use it otherwise to earn money.
Attending the workshops made Johnson realize that some of the things she did online everyday, such as searching for information via the internet, could actually become a paying job.
Camille Johnson grew up in Clarendon and is the last of four children to her parents. Johnson studied Hospitality and Tourism Management at the joint UWI/UTECH programme where she majored in Food and Beverage Management. She has worked at the Jamaica Tourist Board from 2009 to present. With her new found business, her philosophy in life is to “appreciate the little things in life and take things one day at a time.”
While taking things one day at a time, Johnson has so far amassed total earnings of USD$496 working online with the highest amount she has made in one month being approximately USD$156. Not too bad for a newcomer to the online world of work!
The first service Johnson received a sale for was to operate as a virtual assistant. However, since January, she has made repeated sales from making transcriptions of audio and video.
Her advice to those wanting to do the training programmes is that they can learn to be their own boss and work from home or virtually anywhere once one has a computer and internet access. She encourages those who just want to increase their knowledge base to definitely consider taking the courses and learn something new.
Johnson is looking to expand her business and earn more money in the process. She stated to Internet Income Jamaica that, “in the next 6 months I’d love to make between $500 – $1000/month, not out of greed, just to prove that it’s possible and to be able to travel more and feel financially secure.”
Johnson claimed, “I think that what Internet Income Jamaica is doing in Jamaica is quite a noble thing, my only regret is that I did not know about this sooner.”
