It’s common nowadays to have a password manager to help you log into online applications. However, why should you have one, and which one is a good choice?

One of the password managers that we love is LastPass. It is a password manager that works with every significant Operating System, including Microsoft, Mac, and Linux. It also has versions for the web, desktop, or mobile for usability.

What is a password manager? A password manager is a software application that stores retrieves, and manages complex passwords, storing them in an encrypted format. Password managers automatically login to the various sites you visit online.

One Master Password

Password managers generally protect users against attacks to find their logins, such as with keylogging software. They also allow you to access login data without remembering it. They also secure you from reusing passwords in multiple online spaces.

With Lastpass, you have one master password to get you into all of your sites, applications, and software. No need to store logins in places where you lose them or are not secure (like writing on a piece of paper). You also don’t need to try to recall complex passwords you’ve created.

Take Away The Hassle Of Creating Online Passwords

Lastpass also helps users with a simple way to produce passwords. With an account and just one click, you can create great passwords with little effort.

Lastpass reduces the need to boggle your mind to figure out a new password. However, it also lets you become more efficient at managing your online applications.

Improve Strength Of Passwords

The strength of passwords is just as important as having them in the first place. For some people who can’t take the time to create them, it can become a weak and easy to figure out login. Lastpass makes it very effortless to manage strong passwords.

Quicker And Easier Access To Websites

With Lastpass, you will now have quick access to your sites from whichever device is synced to your account. If you find that you use your phone and laptop more, then secure the passwords there.

And every time you wish to log in, use the prompt to fill out the fields, and you have quick and straightforward access to the application you desire.

Tips For a Great Password:

  • Try not to have passwords that contain repetitive numbers or letters.
  • Don’t make passwords representative of your birth date, anniversary date, or the pin you have on your debit or credit card.
  • Don’t use your name or relatives.
  • Attempt to have eight characters or more, with capital and common letters, numbers, and symbols.

LastPass is Secure

Lastpass also gets fancy and encrypts passwords. The master password to the system never leaves your machine. Additionally, the passwords in the software are encrypted and decrypted at the device level.

Even more important is that data from your Lastpass system are never sent by the LastPass servers and are never accessible by them, whether it be the master password or the keys used to encrypt and decrypt data. Even if your LastPass data is intercepted or compromised, your passwords are still guarded.

Now that you’ve learned a bit about password managers, it is a good idea that you get one.
